Goals, Outcomes, and Standards |

GOALS: My goals for this project are that each child go on an adventure to learn about a new country and culture living in that area. I want my students to have fun, yet learn, about an area they may never get to visit. OUTCOMES: *The students will develop skills necessary to search for information on the Internet *The students will develop skills to help organize information *The students will develop writing skills (edit/revise, draft, publish) *The students will develop note taking skills to help produce a final product. Omaha Public Schools Grade 6 CONTENT STANDARDS: Reading/Language Arts 04: Read and comprehend nonfiction to demonstrate understanding 05: Use resources to locate and evaluate appropriate information 06: Apply the rules of grammar, usage, punctuation, paragraphing, and seplling in various forms of writing. 07: Use the writing process (pre-write, write, revise/edit, rewrite, publish) to communicate. 08: Use note taking, outlining and summarizing strategies to record and present information.
