The Royal Family are among the best-loved of British Institutions. They are more popular than tea, almost as popular as fish-and-chips. In 2002 the Queen celebrates 50 years on the throne with the massive Golden Jubilee celebration. Despite the death of her mother the same year, the monarchy is flourishing, with future king Prince William as much a Pop Idol as Will Young.
