Fraction Quest

Learning Objective Students will be able to solve addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division of fractions and will be able to compare and order them.
Student will explain in words, pictures, examples, and by solving problems.
Evidence will be demonstrated on a graphic organizer reflecting the student’s webquest and answers.

California Math Standard NS 1.1, 2.4

Writing fractions to represent situations and finding equivalent fractions.

Writing fractions in simplest form.

Writing mixed numbers into improper fractions and improper fractions into mixed numbers.

Finding the least common denominator of two or more fractions.

Compare and order fractions.

Add and subtract fractions with like and unlike denominators.

Materials needed:

17 X 11 white paper folded lengthwise into fourths.
Pencil and coloring supplies.
