Sista tunda

Montse Bolea, a dear student in the evening classes is known as Sista Tunda (Sister Thunder in Jamaican patois). She knew about this multicultural project and she offered herself to join in. The results are fantastic. She gave us a lecture on Jamaica. She has lived there for 3 years working as a volunteer with children in the streets of a ghetto in Kingston. In spite of the violence, she is highly respected for her task . She explained how she called the kids at Christmas and they asked her to take them back apples and a slice of pizza!. Our students were totally amazed when she showed them a set of interesting pictures which we will have soon in a school exhibition called 'Jamaica, sugar and spice'.
