At the completion of this unit students will be able to apply their knowledge of wood, production processes, and safe machinery operation to create a functional wood assembly. (12.3.3) Develop an understanding of chemical reactions. 2003 Linking The first step in project prepartion is planning a project. Steps involved in planning include knowing furniture styles and function, how to read and create project plans, and also knowing different types of joinery. The second step is to be able to select and identify appropriate materials, figure out how much stock is needed, and to create a bill of materials and an order of operations. The third step in preparing to be a craftsman is knowing hand and power tool parts as well as knowing how to safely operate them. As you progress through the following worksheets you will obtain knowledge that will help guide you in the creation of a wood project. |
