Introduction:
*This is the final project for the novel.
*The project consists of analyzing and telling about the personal lives of the soldiers during the civil war.
*In the Red Badge of Courage, Crane has represented the thoughts and feeling of Henry our main character. This point of view is an important element that enables the reader to experience a heightened sense of realism.

Objectives:
*TLW compose a “realistic story” using a first person point of view to re-construct “A Day in the Life” of a soldier.
*TLW utilize facts about a soldier in completing their “realistic story”.
*TLW research a specific soldier and the Civil War.

Overview:
* This is a 10 day supplement unit. All the links you will need for your information are linked on the left.

* Day 1: Analyze Crane’s style and themes:

*Day 2: Discuss the history of the Civil War:

*Day 3: Analyze the personal lives of soldiers during the Civil War.

*Day 4: Search for a soldier:

* Day 5: Research battles & dates in history:

*Day 6: Outline events of soldier life & choose a 2 day period for the focus.

*Day 7 – 10 Compose “A Day in the Life” of a soldier using a first person point of view.
